We had a busy season last year and all the renters seemed to have enjoyed themselves, so thank you to all who stayed with us.

The restaurant on site 'La Balata' continues to delight offering our visitors the opportunity to eat great quality French cuisine without having to leave the complex at reasonable prices. La Balata now offers a bar service including a happy hour on some days of the week, complemented perfectly by the relaxed golf bar. Every trip out we also visit one of our favourite restaurants in the area at the Hotel de la Gare in Commequiers which is about a 10 minute drive from Coex. The food and ambiance sitting out on the terrace or in the restaurant are fantastic, so again we would recommed that you pay a visit.
We made a long promised day trip to Nantes during last May's half term, combining a visit to Les Machines de l'Ile with a walk into the charming centre of Nantes for shopping and dinner. It is a beautiful city and well worth a visit. The Machines de l’Ile is an extraordinary artistic project, blending the invented worlds of Jules Verne, the mechanical universe of Leonardo da Vinci, and the industrial history of Nantes, on the exceptional site of the former shipyards. You have the opportunity to walk around the various displays and workshops, sit on and operate some of the creations and for an additional charge, take a ride around the site on the extraordinary 12 metre high mechanical elephant.
Recently we discovered the delights of Clisson which is one of the major villages of the Muscadet wine growing area and about an hour away. Clisson is a beautiful village with an historic castle which is well worth a visit, set above the rivers Sevre and Moine. There are many Muscadet chateaus and domaines to visit and we picked Chateau Le Vallon Des Perrieres due to its location near the centre. Although it was not the most attractive of chateaus, the owner M.Heraud was charming and we can highly recommend his special 'Granite De Clisson' Muscadet which at around 7 euros a bottle was just wonderful.
The family of Coypus (large water rats) first spotted a couple of years ago have now moved to the lake adjacent to the 11th tee, they make great entertainment for the kids and the best time to see them is around dusk when the golfers are also not around.
More cycling routes are continually being established including one which winds through farmers fields from Lac Gue Gourande to Coex now resulting in a 10 -12Km loop from the Domaine (depending on whether you go all the way around the lake first or not).
